The little girl and I always heard about the fresh Strawberries and mountainous fresh air from Cameron Highlands. This weekend trip to Cameron Highlands has proved its hype on the internet.
Check out our recent YouTube video.
I made a little vacation video on this trip that summarized our traveling experience in Cameron Highlands. If you like the video, do like and subscribe to our blog and YouTube channel!
Where did we go?
We spent 3 days 2 nights at Cameron Highlands and explored around Cameron Highlands by foot and taxi. The journey to Cameron Highland was not a smooth one as we arrived at the bus terminal late and we missed our second bus from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Cameron Highlands. So, we spent some time at the Malaysia Bus Terminal for breakfast and carried on our journey from there.

We booked all our bus trips via EasyBook and to be honest, the user interface is good but the experience is not. You have to book your bus trip early as some part of the website is not showing the information accurately. We are not able to book a direct bus from Singapore to Cameron Highland because of this and we have to go alternative route from Singapore to KL, from KL then to Cameron Highlands. Lesson learned: book your trip and confirm early!

First look
The weather at Cameron Highlands was cooling and we were told that the weather got hotter over the years due to global warmings. Yet, it is still much better than the weather in Singapore.

We, later on, hopped onto a local public bus where it will bring us to our hotel. However, we missed the stop and so the bus driver took us around Cameron Highlands (up and down the road). The locals are generally very friendly.

Our Hotel
Finally, we reached our hotel after spending half a day traveling and we can’t wait to drop all our heavy bags off in our room and begin our adventure around Cameron Highlands.

And of course, we brought our little ones with us on our trip.

Jim Thompson Cottage
After we dropped our bags and took a few beautiful photos of the room because it will not look as neat and pretty once we start unpacking later. We headed out for a walk quickly before the day was over and shortly, we came across this beauty – Jim Thompson Cottage.

We don’t stay at this beautiful Jim Thompson Cottage at Cameron Highlands; we happened to walk past this beauty and with the weather, walking by foot is a breeze. Oh, do you know that you can book this Cottage via Airbnb? The sky was getting darker by then and we quickly carried on our walk.
Pasar Malam
Not far from where we stayed, Pasar Malam Cameron Highlands is located near Brinchang and if you are a street food lover, it is a must-go place.

Along the way, we saw a few strawberry farms and I was told that you must visit one of these strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands as it is one of the reasons why tourists are here.

Similar to other night markets in Taiwan and Singapore, the Pasar Malam can be seen at the road side and in this case, the road is closed for the Pasar Malam.

End of day one
After shopping at Pasar Malam, the sun was gone as soon as we headed back on the road and we stopped at this Indian temple for a quick look.

We quickly got into a taxi and headed back to our hotel, getting ready for our day 2 at Cameron Highlands.
