At day four, Little Girl and I decided to try something different. There are many different activities organized by Telunas staff daily and we are going to the Jungle-Waterfall Trek today.

We woke up late in the cloudy morning and we quickly join the crew right after our heavy breakfast at the dining hall.
Jungle Waterfall Trekking
Another boat came and picked us up at the jetty, and we have 5 other Telunas guests joining the hike too.

The start of the hike was quite rough for the small ones, especially kids. Since it is low tide, the boat cannot reach the jetty in the jungle. So, we have to walk in and since we are still in the mangrove area, the water level is pretty deep for small ones and we walked quite a distance from where we jumped off the boat. The hike was pretty exhausting and maybe because we are not that physically fit. We can hear the kids whining with their exhausted faces. We trekked through the rainforest and to be honest, I find the start of trek interesting as I can see how the local lives with their live stocks i.e. chickens, cows, and ducks.
The “black pool” waterfall
However, everything seems to be paid off once we reach our destination – the “black pool” waterfall. The pool is black, making the water seems black and so the name “black pool”.

We put our belongings on the high ground, took off our shoes and have some dips. The water is actually clear enough for you to see fishes and shrimps at the side of the pool. Some of us, including myself, went climbing up the rocks and jump off from there. As the pool is really black from above, there is nothing to fear actually. We spent a long time at the waterfall and got to know the other Telunas guests and their kids.

Back to Telunas and rest
Now, it is time to take the trek back to the jetty, back to the island. The journey back seems shorter because everyone is recharged and had a whole lot of fun together.

After a shower back in our room, exhaustion hits us again and we took some time for an afternoon nap.

Bonfire at Telunas
After dinner, we just realize that we have never been to the well-known cozy bonfire in Telunas and this is our last night. On some nights, the Telunas staff will arrange bonfire where Telunas guests will sit and mingle around. They will ask every guest if they want to join the bonfire during the lunch and dinner time.

Some say that staring at the flickering fire helps to relax our brain, muscles and lowers our blood pressure as a result of evolution from Stone Age.
The last night at Telunas was timeless, gathering around a cozy bonfire to roast marshmallows. Kids certainly enjoy themselves with the fire and marshmallow. Even though the heat gets pretty intense due to the wind from the sea.
