I love bird photography. In fact, I spent a serious amount of time finding the rare and migrating birds located in Singapore. In our Hong Kong trip, we actually plan half a day in the Hong Kong Wetland Park.

Getting there
The easiest way to get to the Wetland Park is to take the MTR to Tin Shui Wai. We took a train to Tin Shui Wai MTR Station and walked in. The whole journey took us about an hour.
Opening Hours: 10:00am – 5:00pm (Ticket selling: 9:30am – 4:00pm)
Tuesday is closed, except Public Holidays.

HK Wetland Park
Located in New Territories, the Hong Kong Wetland Park was created to preserve and study the diversity of Hong Kong’s wetlands as such natural landscapes are rapidly lost to urban developments. The Hong Kong Wetland Park has recorded over 200 species till now.

Other than the Wetland park itself, the Hong Kong Wetland park encompasses a Visitor Centre, interactive exhibitions, themed galleries, a theatre, a souvenir shop, a children’s playground and a fast-food restaurant too.

Bird Hides
In order to get close to the wildlife birds, the bird hides are one of the places you can enjoy inside as it let you observe birds at the riverside, fishponds, and mudflat. We theoretically spent the whole day in all these bird hides and even had our packed lunch in it.

Bird & Nature Photography
Alright, it’s enough of taking the photograph of others. It’s time for some bird photography for myself!

Fin.
We ended up spending the whole day in the Hong Kong Wetland Park and really enjoyed our experience there. We have seen other wildlife bird photographers in action too and it was not as crowded as what we think.
