The Happiest Place on Earth
Hong Kong Disneyland is truly one of the amazing and magical experiences Little Girl and I had in Hong Kong and I miss being a child ever since! Hong Kong Disneyland is one of our first stops in Hong Kong and I’m glad that we spend one full day there.
Getting there to Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland is located near the Hong Kong International Airport and we decided to commute by the Mass Transit Railway (MTR in short). I’m glad we did because the train looks like the train to Disney World.
First Look at HK Disneyland
This is our first Disneyland we have ever been to and at the entrance, we spent about 10-15 minutes busy snapping photography for capture the “first-time” experience and moments together. We know that the opening time is 10.30am and we were there early just before the gate opens.
Main Street USA
Designed to an early 20th-century Midwest / small town in America, there are plenty of beautiful houses and shops lining the street from one end to another. It feels like you have traveled through time and space!
Sleeping Beauty Castle
Inspired by the castle in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, this palace is also the gateway to Fantasyland. We were amazed by the scale of it but unfortunately, at that time when we went, the castle was under “maintenance”.
Anybody can step into the enchanting “Frozen” Village to celebrate the “Frozen” Festival together with friendly villagers, and meet the princesses Elsa and Anna.
Festival of Lion King
We specifically came to the Adventureland to watch the Festival of Lion King show. All the action on the round stage is centered on the musical re-telling of the story of Simba, Nala and Scar—for The Lion King himself. Sing along to “Hakuna Matata” and other favorite songs while Simba struggles to take his rightful place as ruler over the Pride Lands. For more information, please go to the official website.
Flights of Fantasy Parade
We knew that the Flights of Fantasy Parade will be an amazing parade with interactive, musical celebration featuring favorite Disney Characters, sky-high acrobats, aerialists, and dancers walking along the designated parade route. Remember the maps you got earlier at the entrance? The parade route is stated there and lucky for us, we got there early and managed to get a good spot to watch the parade.
“It’s a small world”
The Golden Mickey
Toy Story Land
To be continued
As the sky gets darker, we hurried back to the Main Street again for the next parade – Disney Paints the Night. You have to be there early for this particular parade as the curbs and benches along the parade route were filled up really quickly. In the next post, we will be covering the Disney Paints the Night and the rest of the activities we did at night in Hong Kong Disneyland. Stay tuned!
